R.S. Platou has been engaged as specialized brokers in the world-wide transportation of cars and other rolling material for more than 30 years. The company was one of the pioneers in developing modern sea transportation of cars and other wheel based commodities.

The R.S. Platou car-team is working closely with all the major operators/owners world-wide and serving some of the major car manufacturers needs in the world-wide export market.

In order to maintain the best quality and secure the highest ethical standards to our clients, the car carrier department is fully certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and in compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 Standard.

We cover:

• spot and period chartering of car carriers deep sea and short sea as well as ro/ro tonnage
• contracting, sale and purchase in cooperation with our Newbuilding and Sale and Purchase departments
• at the request of the customers we also provide market analysis together with our Economic Research department
